Happy Friday! While I’d really rather be in bed this morning, I have made myself a great cup of coffee (Newman’s Own Organics Extra Bold Special Blend) and am determined to make it a great day no matter what.
Back in June I did a big post on where the Moms are online. Now, I know that the Internet is a mighty dynamic place and that the list is far from comprehensive, so I have been working on an update post. I thought it would be fun to get your input, since there is no way I have seen them all.
What are your favorite web sites for Moms (or women in general)? I am looking for social sites (like Sk*rt), community sites (like Maya’s Mom), or individual blogs? Where do you go for advice, support, socialization, networking, the latest trends and laughs.
Bring me a link today!! (If you bring too many at a time your comment will go into moderation.) And, as always, tell me about your week, your plans for the weekend, and anything else you want to discuss. It is Friday, you know!

Hi Char! Happy Friday
That’s a great list that you’ve compiled. I have recently been visiting Work It Mom – http://www.workitmom.com – a lot. There are lots of great articles (you can even publish your own), blogs, and a question and answer section.
I find it pretty motivational being in company of other working moms who basically support each other. There’s quite a bit of information on having your own business, juggling the work/life balance, and even just mom and parenting stuff.
Another new up-and coming blog community is From the Park Bench – http://www.fromtheparkbench.com. There is a lot of great information for moms here – they regularly post recalls (some obscure ones that don’t necessarily make big news – it’s actually amazing how many recalls there are! There’s a mom’s in business feature where they highlight a mom’s business each week, and also a Dr. Mom feature with health information, etc.
You should check these sites out, if you haven’t already – I like them a lot!

WAH (web) Mommy – Those two are definitely on my reading list and will definitely be included in my round up.
How was your week?
Tiring but good
I’ve got a new wake-up time… I’m getting up an hour earlier so I can do some freelance work before starting work-work, lol. It’s an adjustment for sure, but I actually enjoy the extra (un-interrupted) time to work on MY stuff.
How about you? Your coffee sounds good… I’m off for some breakfast now myself, lol.

Hey everyone,
I’m home for once on a Friday morning! I usually visit wahm.com’s writer’s forum.
Char wrote @ January 18th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Katelyn – did you get much snow up your way? Ours was so pretty coming down and then was washed away by rain by evening!

Hello all! Happy Friday. I wish it was a relaxing day – but I have so much to do! Argh. So I am taking a break and stopping by!
My favorite mom site is not just for mom’s – http://www.parenthacks.com/. I love this site! It has great ideas that I’ve used!
Char wrote @ January 18th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Hi Brooke!! I like Parent Hacks too – I even made a button for her last year and have submitted some of my own tips.
Don’t work too hard today!

I agree, for me it is Parent Hacks and Momgadget forums. It’s been a while since I went into any forums. However one other favorite place for me is http://www.Momwriters.com it’s more of a yahoogroup though and these are a group of mom writers so everything just ties right in. Happy Friday! Love your snow pics.Did you get to see mine? I was having time issues this morning but they are up now.

Homemom3 – your snow was different than ours – ours was wet and perfect for snowballs – until the rain came.

Hi Char – great idea! I can’t wait to see the list because I hope someday soon my company will be one of the top places that moms are online. I’m working on a social networking concept for parents that is so exciting and so different than what’s out there already. I’m hoping I can raise some money to put my plan into action!
I visit http://www.emomsathome.com a lot. I’m also a member of Work It, Mom! I’ve actually found myself on Twitter quite a bit as well.

Our snow was perfect for packing, but we barely got a few snowballs made before it was washed away. Ah, well. It was pretty while it lasted.
Laura wrote @ January 18th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
I visit a lot of these places. Work It Mom – http://www.workitmom.com/ – is a favorite. So is MomGadget – http://www.momgadget.com/ I also have a work-at-home mom blog that I write for – http://www.workfromhomemomma.com/
It’s difficult to choose a single place, there are so many resources for moms out there. Did you already have the Mom Blogs on your list?
Char wrote @ January 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Aruni – of course eMoms is one of my favorites and a daily read. Wendy has an amazing vision for her site.
Laura – thanks for your input. I have a feeling I will have a very long list.

For an individual blog, I like You Get What you get. http://getwhatyouget.blogspot.com. If you have kids with special needs. it’s a must read. for everyone else, it’s still really good.
